FAQs
Set Point Psychology Ltd is an independent provider of psychological services (company number 15983590).
What will an initial appointment involve?
The initial appointment is designed to complete a thorough assessment of any current difficulties and to discuss whether psychological therapy is appropriate at the present time. During this initial appointment we will discuss your goals for therapy, and recommendations for any further intervention. Any required written correspondence, incurs an additional cost at the agreed session fee.
A typical therapy session will be 50 minutes in duration. Occasionally it may be beneficial to extend therapy sessions beyond 50 minutes, and this will always be agreed with the client directly as and when the situation may arise.
How many sessions will I have?
Therapy is organised over an agreed number of sessions. Typically, between 8 and 12 sessions are agreed but this can be significantly longer or shorter depending on your individual needs. Sessions are usually arranged on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you need to cancel a booked appointment, please email or message as soon as possible. Unfortunately, cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full hourly rate due to that slot being reserved and unable to be rebooked. Cancellation prior to 24 hours but within 48 hours will attract a fee of 50%.
How much does it cost?
Please contact us to obtain up-to-date pricing. The cost varies depending on the nature of the support being offered. There are different pricing structures for assessment, therapy, supervision, training, and consultation.
How can I pay?
If you are self-funding, payments are to be made by bank transfer in order to confirm an initial session. Subsequent appointments are to be paid for before the start of each session.
If your sessions are funded by a third party, you may be required to pay an excess and you may be required to cover the cost of missed appointments or those cancelled without the required notice.
